  Austin Air HealthMate HM400 All purpose air purifier employs large True HEPA filter, which has a guaranteed 99.97% rate of removal of all airborne particulates - allergens and sub-micron dust down to 0.3 micron in size. This size range includes mold spores, plant spores, pollen, house dust mites and debris, lung damaging dust, pet dander, bird feather dust, asbestos dust, microscopic ash particles in cigarette smoke, wildfires, smoke from wood burning stove and furnace, etc.
  Large amount (60 sq. ft.) of a medical-grade True HEPA filter media results in a long HEPA filter's lifetime - up to 3 to 5 years.

• Large Chemical an Odor Filter
  
  The substantial amount (15 lbs.) of activated granulated carbon adsorbent from coconut shell with zeolite in a filter canister assures effective removal of most harmful dabgerous chemical substances and noxious odors, including but not limited to: chemicals in wildfires, cuisine odors, pet odors, chemicals in tobacco smoke, smoke from wood burning stove, household cleansers, paint odors, and many more.
  
  Important Notice!
  The specific feature of Austin Air HealthMate HM400 air filtration system is that True HEPA filter and Activated Carbon canister are combined together in one-piece filter assembly. Therefore, when True HEPA or Activated carbon filter reaches the end of its lifetime, the whole filter assembly has to be replaced with new one to maintain the overall air purification efficiency.
  To make the filter replacement more affordable, the filter assembly is covered by the 5-Year Pro-Rated warranty
  The Pro-rated warranty allows users to get a new filter assembly at a portion of the total filter cost, which is determined according to the number of years it stayed efficient. The Pro-rated filter warranty applies only to Austin Air HealthMate units used in normal residential conditions.

• Standard Polyester Pre-filter
  
  The Pre-filter is the first stage of the Austin Air HealthMate HM400 air filtration system. The pre-filter located right behind the metal mesh of the polluted air intake, stops larger visible dust, lint abd hair and protects fine True HEPA filter from faster contamination and extend its lifetime. The pre-filter can be vacuumed right through the grill, and easily replaced when it gets very dirty or ruined - usually within one year or so.
  PermaFilt pre-filter is available in two colors: Black for units in Black and Midnight Blue colors, White for units in Sandstone and White colors.
  The Free Pre-filter of a matching color is included with each new filter assembly.
