To achieve the main objective of creating the allergens and dust free environment, Austin Air Allergy Machine is equipped with Large True HEPA containing 60 sq. ft. of medical grade True HEPA media. True HEPA filter traps all sub-micron airborne contaminates down to 0.3 micron in size at a rate exceeding 99.97%, which ensures a superior level of protection from all lung damaging dust and allergens including, but not limited to:

• mold spores, plant spores
• pollen
• house dust mites and their debris
• ground talc
• asbestos dust
• pet dander, bird feather dust
• microscopic particles in cigarette and tobacco smoke
• particulates in wildfire smoke
• smoke from wood burning stove and furnace, etc.
• airborne pathogens: microbes, bacteria, germs, fungi

Lightweight Carbon Filter - HEGA

To provide an adequate adsorption from the air of common household chemicals and odors, Austin Air Allergy Machine employs the Lightweight Cloth-embed dust carbon - HEGA filter.
The HEGA is an acronym for High Efficiency Gas Adsorption. It has a high rate of adsorption for wide range of regular chemicals and odors. However, due to relatively small amount of adsorbent used, the overall adsorption capacity is substantially lower than for Austin Air HealthMate HM400 carbon canister with 15 lb. of granulated carbon adsorbent. It means that HEGA filter can get saturated sooner and may require more frequent filter replacements.
On the positive side, lightweight HEGA filter makes the Austin Air Allergy Machine about 13 lbs. lighter than other Austin Air purifiers equipped with carbon canister, and makes it easier to carry up and down stairs when needed.

Important Notice!
Austin Air Allergy Machine True HEPA filter and Cloth-embed dust carbon (HEGA) are combined together in One piece Filter assembly. Therefore, the whole filter assembly has to be replaced when either True HEPA or Activated carbon HEGA filter gets full.
To help Austin Air users to offset the cost of replacement filter assembly, it is covered by a 5-Year Pro-rated warranty (applicable to normal residential use only).

Standard Polyester Pre-filter

The non-woven PermaFilt polyester pre-filter represents the the first stage of the air filtration system.
It traps most of large visible dust, lint, hair and plays an importanat role of protecting fine True HEPA filter from contamination and extending its lifetime.
PermaFilt pre-filter is available in two colors: Black for units in Black and Midnight Blue colors, White for units in Sandstone and White colors.
Located right behind the perforated metal grill of a polluted air intake, pre-filter can be easily vacuumed from dust and dirt right through the grill and easily replaced at a minimal cost when gets ruined or dirty.
The Free pre-filter of a matching color is included with each new filter assembly.

Austin Air Allergy Machine Motor Fan

Austin Air Allergy Machine air purifier employs the same powerful, yet energy efficient and quiet Motor/Fan rated at 400 CFM (open air).
It makes the Allergy Machine powerful enough for effective cleaning areas under 1500 sq. ft. at 2 ACH (air changes per hour) with 8 ft. high ceiling.
The 3-Speed fan control offers users a convenience of selecting the optimal air flow under most household of office operating conditions.
The motor is run-tested for a long continuous operation at high RPM and a long lifetime.
The shock absorbers insulate a motor from the housing, which allows significantly reduce the associated noise and vibration.

The 360° Polluted air intake made of perforated steel (lower deck of the unit) promotes unobstructed air flow and improves the performance.
The Clean air outlet at the top deck of the unit away from dust and dirt on the floor allows for a directional delivery of clean air and improves the air circulation in the room.
Four Wheel Casters on the bottom panel allow the relatively heavy unit move with ease.
